Bauchi Police Warn Against Protest on National Police Day, Cite Security Risks

The Bauchi State Police Command has urged the “Take It Back Movement” to reconsider its planned protest today, April 7, citing security threats and the clash with National Police Day.

In a statement, PPRO CSP Ahmed Wakil said the protest lacks formal notification and security arrangements, raising concerns amid heightened tensions. The Command described the timing as “untimely” and “unpatriotic.”
Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has ordered increased patrols at potential flashpoints and warned of consequences for any disruptions.

While reaffirming support for peaceful assembly, the police advised organizers to engage in dialogue and submit plans for future protests. Parents were also urged to discourage youth participation in any unrest.
