Army Rescues Four Kidnap Victims in Delta

The Nigerian Army successfully rescued four kidnap victims from a hideout in Ugbolu Forest, Delta State. Acting on credible intelligence, the soldiers conducted a raid, engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle, and overpowered the criminal gang. This was confirmed in a statement by Major Emmanuel Onoja, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, on Wednesday via X (formerly Twitter). The rescued victims, who had been held for several days, were given medical attention and later reunited with their families. The statement read, “On Monday, December 9, 2024, troops of the 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army, conducted a successful operation, rescuing four victims from a kidnappers’ hideout in Ugbolu Forest, Delta State. After a fierce gun battle with the kidnappers, the victims received medical care before being reunited with their loved ones.” The kidnappers had been demanding a large ransom for the victims’ release. The swift and coordinated operation of the troops thwarted the criminals’ plans, bringing relief to the victims and their families. The Nigerian Army has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
