Army Chief Urges Troops to Enhance National Security

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has called on Nigerian Army troops to intensify efforts in securing the nation. During his maiden operational visit to the 12 Brigade, Charimaigumeri Barracks in Lokoja, he praised soldiers for their dedication and emphasized the need for increased commitment amid ongoing security challenges.

Oluyede reaffirmed his commitment to soldiers’ welfare, highlighting improvements such as increased allowances, a housing scheme, and access to soft loans. He also urged troops to manage their finances wisely.

During the visit, he inspected completed and ongoing projects, laid the foundation for new officers’ quarters, and inaugurated a 6,000-litre borehole. His entourage included senior army officers, including Maj. Gen. Obinna Onubogu.
