One of the foremost Contenders for the revered Traditional Ruler’s stool ‘EzeOkpoko II of Oba’, Chief Barrister Vincent Chukwuma Ananti (Aninepungwu) has Commiserated with the Police,Oba Leadership saying that it was time for Oba people to come together and rebuild the Civic Center partly demolished by Unknown persons.

He made the call during an inspection visit with the President Isu Akanato Quarter, Nze Henry Elosiuba (Ozogidigbam), VP and Former National Youth Council of Nigeria Idemili South LGA Chapter Chairman, Comrade Kingsley Muoemenam among other dignitaries to the Civic Center and Police Station Oba, Idemili South LGA Anambra State destroyed during the September 3, 2024 gas/petrol bomb attack.
According to Barrister Vincent Ananti, I commiserate with Oba Regent, PG, Oba people, the Nigerian Police and particularly the family of the deceased police officer who died on duty.
“This incident is terrible, unheard of and a mystery to Oba people. We hear of such attacks on Police check points, station, LGA Secretariat. Nevertheless, I do not subscribe to people casting aspersions rather if anyone has proofs or any information that will aid investigation or unravel what happened to our Civic Center, let it be brought forward. We pray that the police will come up with findings soonest”.
“We call on Oba people to brace up, come together let us rebuild our town hall. The Regent, PG, Presidents of village Quarters, Chairmen, Kindred Heads,All hands should be on deck to resuscitate our Civic Center”.

“Nze Onyeka Ibeagwa built and donated that police station, let Government see what they can do.
“This incident has really shown how porous our Civic Center is, where several community documents are kept. There is need to erect a perimeter fence around the Civic Center with a gate. Also, darkness is synonymous with evil, so, solar powered camera enabled searchlights should be installed around that area to illuminate the surroundings and scare criminals away. The Vigilante operatives and Police need to be equipped and insurance scheme established for them so that they can be motivated to always be on surveillance,” said Ananti.
He further endorsed the need to seek God’s face and to keep praying for God’s intervention in the various teething issues that concerns Oba community urging Umu Oba to pursue peace at all times.
“It is good to pray for God to help us address many things in Oba community. Let us embrace love, peace and unity, eschewing rancour as we engage in anything that concerns us in this our precious community, Oba.
Earlier during the visit to the Police Station, the DPO of the attacked police station, CSP Olusegun requested Oba community to secure alternative accommodation for them and assist the force in the burial of the deceased officer which Chief Ananti (Ananepungwu Oba) promised to do the needful with the requisite authorities in Oba.

The President Isu Akanato Quarter Nze Henry Elosiuba (Ozogidigbam) prayed that such incident should not happen again because it was very unfortunate and terrible to witness such a thing in a time like these.
