Anambra traders praise Soludo for response to market crisis

Anambra State traders under the eagis of Anambra Elite Trader’s Forum (AETF) have poured  accolades on the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for giving listening ears to traders in the state.

In the letter to the Governor captioned: “Appreciation For Quick Response To The Traders Clarion Call” signed by Chikeluba Odiche and Micheal Nwangwu and copied to the newsmen in Onitsha, the traders prayed that it shall be well with the Governor, as he pilots the affairs of Anambra State.

The traders in the letter stated, ” His Excellence, we write you again, in furtherance to our  letter of September 14, 2022 and wish to thank you for giving a listening ear to the crises of the traders in the state. It is our prayer that it shall be well with you as you  pilot the affairs of the state.

“But we also need to point out that the damages caused by Dr. Obinna Ngonadi in the Markets in Anambra State is far from cleansed. We pray your excellence to further intervene with a view to cleaning the atrocities committed in the Markets by the commissioner. We appeal to you, His Excellence, to reinstate elected  leaders in various Markets  who were unlawfully and unjustly removed from office”

The traders, however, maintained that elections in Ogbaru Main Market (Relief Market), Ose Okwuodu Markets, Nkpor Main Market and Bridge-Head Market were well monitored, but alleged that the ex Commissioner chose to collect monies from elements in the Markets to take up the positions.

“Again, in the electronic Market Onitsha, Dr. Ngonadi in his recklessness and disobedience to court order constituted Caretaker committees. Your excellence, can you imagine the height of impunity in constituting a caretaker committees in violation of Court order. It is a common knowledge that Dr. Ngonadi was reckless and has no respect for rule of law. But, we are happy the matter is in your table and we trust your excellency, as a law abiding governor, to reverse the illicit actions of the commissioner,” the traders said.

They urged the Governor to be wary of self acclaimed APGA Chieftains, past Markets leaders comprising Ogbaru Main Market, Onitsha Electronics dealers Association and former administrative assistant to Dr. Ngonadi and dislodge their activities to avoid further embarrassment to the government.
