Anambra State Launches Youth Reformation Program for Touts

The Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has initiated a three-day workshop aimed at reforming and redirecting street-oriented youths, touts, and thugs across the state’s three senatorial zones. The 2024 Youths Reformation and Redirection Workshop, which began on August 14, focuses on reorienting participants away from hard drugs and towards productive skills and positive lifestyles.
Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Agha Mba, stated that the program aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s mission to develop youth potential. Participants showing interest will be enrolled in the state’s ‘1Youth 2Skills Solution’ empowerment program.

The workshop, themed “Moving From The Street To Self-Realization For Self-Actualization,” includes sessions on drug abuse awareness and personal development. It’s part of a broader initiative that includes digital skills training and entrepreneurship programs.
Local government officials and representatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency participated in the event, offering guidance and support to the youth. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to avoid drug abuse and other social vices.
This program represents a significant step in Anambra State’s efforts to address youth-related social issues and promote positive development.
