Health workers in Anambra State have appealed to Governor Charles Soludo to implement 100% of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS), warning that failure to do so may trigger fresh industrial action.

Speaking in Nnewi on Thursday, Charles Nwoye, spokesperson for the Organized Health Sector Unions and Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals, said workers had been denied full CONHESS benefits since its approval in 2010 and its review in 2023.

He noted that while doctors enjoy full CONMESS implementation, other health workers receive only 50%, despite previous efforts that raised implementation to 90% at the Teaching Hospital level.

Nwoye urged the governor to fulfill his campaign promises by prioritizing the health sector, which he said is vital to achieving his vision of making Anambra the “Dubai of Africa.”
