The course officials for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 orientation, which began on Wednesday, have been urged to treat National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members with kindness, empathy, and respect. Mrs. Gladys Adama, the State Coordinator of NYSC in Abia, issued this reminder on Tuesday during a pre-orientation camp meeting at the Umunna Bende NYSC Abia Orientation camp. She emphasized the importance of teamwork and emotional intelligence in dealing with the Corps members as they arrive at the camp, while also warning officials against extortion, over-socialization, and corporal punishment. However, Adama stressed that maintaining discipline should remain a top priority. In her remarks, Mrs. Hellen Anyaeze, the Camp Director, called for collaboration in guiding the Corps members. Captain E.T. Clement, the Camp Commandant, reminded everyone that security is a collective responsibility and encouraged prompt reporting of any security concerns to the relevant personnel.
