Kebbi Court Jails Man for Sexually Exploiting Schoolgirls
A High Court in Birnin Kebbi has convicted 48-year-old Kabiru Shekare for sexually exploiting minors, sentencing him to seven years in prison on two counts. Justice Shamsudeen Ja’afar delivered the ruling on April 24, 2025, following charges filed under the Trafficking in Persons Act. Shekare, who targeted 10-year-old pupils, faces a N1 million fine per count or additional jail time. The case was prosecuted by NAPTIP.
