UNIZIK ASOMACS Inducts New Mass Communication Students in Grand Ceremony

The Association of Mass Communication Students, Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka (ASOMACS) on Friday inducted newly admitted students of the department into the department of Mass communication.
The induction ceremony which started at the early hours of Friday attracted the presence of Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Paul University Awka,Prof Allen Adum, HoD Mass Communication Department Unizik,Dr Nwosu Julius, departmental Staff Adviser, Comrade Ojukwu Austin the departmental president,Dr Ekobosi Nzube the CEO Reliable Homes.
Prof Allen Adum the Hod Mass Communication Department during his speech enlightened the students on the need to be committed to their academics like attending lectures and doing assignments.
Prof Chinyere Stella Okunna who was a former Dean of the faculty of Social Sciences and HoD Mass Communication Department of Unizik during her speech explained the importance of the media to the students, even as she also encouraged the students to be independent as students.
In an interview with Elemalo Kamsiyochuckwu an inductee said she really enjoyed the event and it was educating.

'' Prof Allen's talk was well educational and I really gained a lot from it'', she said. 

On his part, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Anambra State Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu PhD encouraged students to become relevant in their areas of interest in studying Mass Communication as students to enable them enhance their capabilities before graduating.
Comrade Odogwu who is also the Editor-in-chief of www.odogwublog.com, an online newspaper published Odogwu Media Communications limited insisted:”With journalism you can get whatever you want and journalism has given me every thing I needed’.

He also advised the students that on whatever they want to become  they should start now to build their talents.
 The event continued with oath taking which was led by Dr Nwosu Julius the department's staff adviser.
 An Award of honour frame was also presented to Prof Chinyere Stella Okunna for being a good mentor and an academic Mother to thousands of students.
 It ended with Refreshments and lots of Entertainment.
