Kaduna Residents Demand Compensation Over Power Outages

Electricity consumers in Kaduna have called for compensation due to the collapse of the national grid and recurring power outages. The demand was made during a three-day summit organized by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). Business owners, including Sanjeev Kumar from R.H Plastics, reported significant financial losses, with one company losing N60 million in 10 days due to the outages. NERC clarified that compensation was not the responsibility of the distribution company, while local officials emphasized the need for improved power supply and protection of infrastructure.
