The Bayelsa High Court in Nembe has summoned Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun and the Police Service Commission (PSC) to appear within 42 days regarding a N649 million debt lawsuit. The suit, filed by Euphemie Motel owner Darius Obienem, alleges that the Police SWAT team, stationed in Opu-Nembe from August 2023 to October 2024, occupied the motel without permission and failed to settle the accommodation debt. The court warned that judgment would be entered if the defendants failed to appear. The claimant seeks compensation for the unpaid bill and damages for loss of revenue.
