Onitsha South Councillors Laud Governor Soludo On Solar Light For Health Centers, Others

In a bid to ensure good condition of the primary Health Centers in the state,the State Government has energized the health centers in the 17 wards of Onitsha South local government area with solar light.

Each ward received 9 panels , 1 battery, 1 meter, 1 charger, 1 AC surge, 1 power surge and 12 packs of panel rack.

Speaking with the information officer, the Councilor representing Odoakpu 1, Hon Uchenna Onyeke lauded Governor Soludo, Onitsha South Mayor, Him.Chief Emeka Orji, Deputy Mayor, Hon. Onyebuchi Obi on the initiative, stated that no health facility can operate effectively without proper power for it is needed in the maternity wards and also to refrigerate vaccines.

He added that Governor Soludo’s programme on health centers, free delivery and other health checks couldn’t be easy for the workers as a result of the epileptic power supply at health centers.

“These items has already been distributed to the wards for installation and effective service to the populace to ease their problem on electricity.

Onyeke who is also the Deputy Speaker disclosed that” During my familiarization visit to the health center in my ward, it has its own challenge, due to space, the location the health center is positioned, some of the facilities our governor gave to Onitsha South, Anambra, such as free antenatal, child delivery services, is not taking place there.

“Based on that, we have extended our report so far to the appropriate authority in other to bring a nice location in my ward that would be suitable for those facilities and it’s progressing

He noted the effect of ongoing water borehole structure in his ward, stated that through the borehole , the people can access clean water.

The Councillor representing Bridge Head 3, Hon Marcel Onyeka who is also the Chairman House Committee on Parks lauded Governor Soludo on the developmental strides in the state so far, pledged to ensure safety and sanity in onitsha South parks.

Earlier, the Speaker of Onitsha South legislative council, Hon.Regina Udeogalanya in her words commended the Governor for the provision of Solar to Primary Health Centers, noted that with these, our primary health center would be top notch in healthcare service delivery.
