AUGUST NATIONAL PROTEST:NOA TASKS NIGERIANS ON PEACE

It has been observed that no single progress could be recorded in a place devoid of peace .

The Anambra State Director, National Orientation Agency,(NOA), Awka, Mr. Edozie Ajaegbu, made the observation today in his office at the Engr. Ebele Ofunneamaka Okeke Federal Secretariat Complex Awka, during press interview on the proposed national protest slated to hold on August first to tenth in the country.

The NOA boss, who noted that Mr. President is not oblivion of the economic hardship in the country, cited the President’s uncommon efforts in approving the new minimum wage and passing it into law by the National Assembly as well as accenting to it immediately by President Ahemd Bola Tinubu as some of the efforts Nigerian government is making to amelioration the sufferings on ground in the country today.

Mr Ajaegbu,equally cited the President’s order to the leadership of NNPC to sort out crude oil immediately to Dangote at naira rate whom he said was having difficulties in accessing foreign exchange to bring his refinery to full operation as another glaring determination of the present government in the country to reviving the nation’s ill economic.

He maintained that protest by the citizens of the country is enshrined in the nation’s 1999 constitution as amended under normal circumstances and appealed to the organizers of the protest to rethink as it not necessary now.

He recalled that the current government in the country is just one year old in office,noting that no meaningful progress could be attained in a chaotic evenronment anywhere in the world.

He added that the leadership of President Ahemd Bola Tinubu is making every frantic efforts to better the people’s condition of living as a result of the economic downturn in the country also advising the Nigerian citizens to learn how to appreciate the government efforts, pointing out that leadership is not an enigma.

The NOA Director, who spoke among other things , opined that leadership is not an easy thing, adding that the people should appreciate whatever government is doing as government business is not a magic.

He stressed that he was part of the system and was not oblivion of the economic hardship in the country and assured all that with time things would improve for better in the country.

He further pleaded with the agitators to forsake the protest now for sake of peace and pray for those in authority according to the biblical injunctions, stating that being in authority is not an easy task, but because of human instinct, people aspire for leadership , hence the citizens should form the habit of praying for the leaders of the nation for peace to reign in Nigeria.
