We’ll mark 2nd anniversary in Awka Township Stadium – Gov Soludo
The second section of Awka Township Stadium may be used to commemorate the second anniversary of the present state government.
Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, gave the indication during an inspection visit to the facility, on Monday.
The governor also ordered immediate deployment of earth-moving machines to work on the layout of the stadium facility for subsequent division and allocation of spaces for relevant sporting events.
Explaining that the land which had a cumulative area of about nine hectares could be used to achieve a lot if put to use, Gov. Soludo warned trespassers to vacate the entire complex of get ready to face the music.
It will be recalled that the park section of Awka Stadium is already functional with about 3000-capacity sitting pavilion, football pitch and tracks for athletics training.
