Anambra State traders have expressed confidence in the administration of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo in the last one year.
Traders under the aegis of Anambra Trader’s Elite Forum in their press release which was signed by Chikeluba Odiche, Chairmen and Michael Nwangwu, Secretary in support of the party in the forthcoming March 18, 2023, State House Assembly election, urged Ndi-Anambra to vote for APGA candidates.
The traders appealed to Anambrarians to disregard all sorts of propaganda against Prof. Soludo in order to undermine his developmental strides in the state, even as they said the Governor might not be perfect like any other human.
“We the members of the Anambra Trader’s Elite Forum deem it necessary to speak to the conscience of Anambrarians in this forthcoming State House of Assembly. We have been closely monitoring events in this electioneering process.
“There are so much hate speech against His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. It was caused by desperate politicians around him. But the Governor has sacked many of them. If you have been following our activities as it concerns the welfares of traders in Anambra State, you will be aware we have been fighting for the interest of traders and Anambra in general,” the traders said.
Continuing they said “One of the initial policies His Excellency introduced was to install Caretaker Committees in 30 Markets. The former Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Hon. Obinna Ngonadi in collaboration with some greedy politicians hijacked the exercise and messed it up. When we called for the removal of Hon. Ngonadi over his excesses, His Excellency did not hesitate to remove him and restored Ogbaru Relief Market President general, who was illegally removed by the erstwhile Commissioner.”
They said that they were hoping that His Excellency would as well as restore the President General of BridgeHead Market and Ose Okwodu Market President general who were equally removed unlawfully by former Commissioner.
The group further said that when Prof. Soludo introduced new tariff for heavy duty vehicles and other taxes, they intervened and cried to him and he suspended it.
They also recalled that Prof. Soludo pledged to conduct election of town unions and he lived up to his promises, adding that some of the elections have been transparently and successfully.conducted.
They however, mentioned other achievements of Prof. Soludo as road construction which included; Magazine/ Akpaka Road, Niger Street, numerous connecting roads in Okpoko, Ayamelum, Atani, Ekwusigo roads and other communities across 21 local government in the state.
“We also see Prof. Soludo as a listening Governor especially for the welfare of traders. So, let us support him and cast our votes to all APGA candidates in the House of Assembly election in order to encourage him to do more.
“We believe that he is a real solution to Anambra State. Anambra State cannot miss this opportunity,” said the group.
