2nd Round Of Voting Begins For 2025 NUJ Anambra Man Of The Year Awards Nominees

Voting ended 9:29pm April 17th, 2025.

The public is interested in who becomes the NUJ Anambra Man Of The Year 2025 based on the votes so far. The first round has ended. We are in the second round.

The list below is in the order of merit according to votes by the voting public across the world.

Remember that sequel to Anambra State Governorship election billed for November 8th, 2025, the activities of the week long NUJ Press week and NUJ 2025 Man Of The Year Awards Grand finale shall be by 28th August, 2025 at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Center, NUJ Secretariat complex, Awka.

This is to give room for politicians and political activities from September through October before the election proper. And as well give women opportunity to have their turn during August meetings.

Theme: “The Media, Our State, Anambra: Reportage In Election year”

Who becomes the NUJ 2025 Man Of The Year? Who does the cap fit? Who is the real man or woman?
The winner must be an outstanding Philanthropist? An Inspiring Leader, Innovative Entrepreneur etc etc!

The call for nomination has long ended. First round of voting is over. We are in the second stage of voting.

After this round of voting, journalists and the committee shall do theirs before the Board looks at the CV’s of the best 6 recommendations to select the winner.

Remember those nominated for voting were 103 persons. 57 names were nominated without the brief CV on the feats of those nominated in Philanthropy as requested and the likes.

Aside from the 57 names forwarded without a brief curriculum vitae, 13 names came in with names , positions and organizations as requested by the committee while 30 nominees were neither here nor there on how they were nominated as some had incomplete names or portfolios.

After dealing with the 13 names, we are now dealing with 8 names comprising 6 who received votes and two without votes.

We hereby present to you the 8 nominees to endorse who becomes NUJ Anambra Man Of The Year 2025 in the order of public preference.

    He scored 38 votes in first round.
    He is serving as a member Representing Awka South 2 Constituency and Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly.

He has facilitated the employment and appointment of over 200 constituents. Through his educational support programmes, he has given scholarships to over 300 students, erected a perimeter fence on more than five schools and shared educational materials to students. Rt Hon Sir Chukwuma Pius Okoye has built over three health centres to increase access to healthcare services for all ages. His annual empowerment programmes have produced over 100 employers of labour. To support the security outlet of his Constituency, he donated vehicles to members of Vigilante and mounted over 200 Solar Powered Street Lights.     He scored 29 votes in the first round.
    Started giving jobs and scholarship as student leader when he was SUG President Unizik, continued in granting job opportunities and countless scholarships to numerous people across the state ever before becoming Mayor of Awka North.
    Has been outstanding as a chairman of local government in all ramifications based on his antecedents. Nominated by a Journalist from Awka North.
