Crown Chaplaincy International (CPAC) has held an interdenominational national prayer for a peaceful and successful election asking God to help Nigeria elect the right candidates that will lead and represent the people well.

The chaplains prayed against electoral violence, bloodshed, and malpractice asking God to frustrate the activities of hoodlums, gunmen, and evil politicians who intended to scuttle the general election from holding free, fair and void of harassment.

According to the International Chaplain Commandant General (ICCG), Chap. Gen JohnRich Ubah, the prayers tagged ‘Interfaith National Electoral Peace Prayer(INEPP) which was held at UniFaith Living Church Inc. Ogidi, Idemili North, Anambra State is to invite all peace-loving citizens, corporate bodies, civil society groups and representatives of political parties to pray for peaceful and credible 2023 general election in Nigeria.

“CPAC moved by the ever-unfolding ugly situation in our country Nigeria, had made this Clarion call for us to intercede on behalf of our nation. Through intensive intercessory prayer, the Goliaths of Nigeria will collapse to the glory of God.

“We believe that this oneness will bring about the emergence of a glorious nation from the pit of corruption, insecurity, hunger, civil unrest, etc because prayer is one of the greatest survival tactics given by God,” Ubah said.

In his homily, the International Patron/President CPF, His Lordship Chap. Gen. Norman Okeorimili stated that electing the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Mr Peter Obi into power was the only hope for Nigeria saying that a nation can only rejoice when the righteous is on the throne.

“Labor party is our anchor for hope for this nation. We pray for fruition on the polls for the righteous because we are tired of rancour, violence, and hardship. If we are not satisfied today what will become of our children in the future. There is more to it than money. Our global March has already begun”.

“We are not talking of turn but time. Daniel 2:20-22 says that God changes times and seasons, dethrones and enthrones. Voting the right candidate will give us a new Nigeria,” said Okeorimili.

Moreover, the Labour party aspirant for House of Representatives Idemili North and South, Hon. Uche Okonkwo phoned in during the prayer program and urged Nigerians to put aside personal interests and vote for the collective goal of the growth of Nigeria.

The highlight of the prayer program includes the decoration of Chaplain Sunday Onukwube Nwodo from CPAC Enugu State Command. Nwodo pledged to abide by the service-oriented objectives of the chaplaincy.
