Governor Soludo Leads Nominees for Nigeria’s Pride Awards

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has been prominently recognized as one of the top nominees for the inaugural Nigeria’s Pride Awards. Organized by African Leadership Scorecard Magazine in collaboration with The Beauties of Nigeria TV, the awards celebrate exemplary leadership and impactful contributions across Nigeria.

Governor Soludo, who has been nominated in the category of “Best Governor on Empowerment,” is joined by other notable figures such as Vice President Kashim Shettima, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa. Soludo’s nomination highlights his ongoing efforts in Anambra State to foster empowerment and create opportunities for the people, reinforcing his reputation as a governor dedicated to the development and welfare of his citizens.

The Nigeria’s Pride Awards aim to recognize and celebrate outstanding leaders who have demonstrated visionary leadership and significant positive impact in their respective roles. The Awards Organizing Committee, on August 2, 2024, called for public nominations, leading to a competitive selection process. Out of the numerous submissions, 25 individuals and eight institutions were chosen as finalists.

In addition to Governor Soludo, other governors nominated include Dauda Lawal of Zamfara (Best Governor on Urban Renewal), Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River (Best Governor on Agric/Food Security), Ademola Adeleke of Osun (Best Governor on Infrastructure), Babagana Zulum of Borno (Most People-Oriented Governor), and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi (Best Governor on Urban Transformation). The Awards Facilitator, Bonaventure Phillips Melah, along with key members of the committee such as Ahaziah Suleiman and Hajia Medina Dauda-Nadabo, emphasized that the awards are designed to inspire and motivate leaders across the country by celebrating those who have utilized their intellectual capabilities, education, and experience to positively impact the lives of Nigerians.

Governor Soludo’s nomination is seen as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to empowerment and sustainable development in Anambra State. His efforts in education, economic development, and social welfare have set a standard that many believe other governors should emulate.
